BlackWatch Entertainment: Pitch Day Manitoba

Calling Manitoba’s Storytellers to Pitch Unscripted Content for Global Audiences

Winnipeg, Manitoba – February 27, 2026 – Black Watch Entertainment is excited to announce Pitch Day Manitoba, a dedicated pitching event for unscripted content creators. This opportunity invites producers, writers, actors, directors, journalists and everyday storytellers from across Manitoba to present compelling, ready-to-develop projects to industry professionals with connections to global networks.

What is unscripted content? We’re looking for real stories about real people, whether it’s a gripping true crime case, a fascinating job or lifestyle, an incredible family or business, or a unique world that would make a compelling documentary or reality TV series.

Event Details:

Pitch Day Manitoba will take place over three days: May 6, 7, and 8, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day, at 860 Bradford Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba.

We are actively seeking unscripted factual content in genres including:

  • High-Stakes Documentary Series – ie Highway Through Hell, Ice Pilots, Ice Road Truckers
  • History – ie Modern Marvels, History’s Greatest Escapes, The Men Who Built America
  • Paranormal – ie Ancient Aliens, The Unexplained, The Unbelievable with Dan Aykroyd
  • Competition – ie Alone, Forged In Fire, Survivor
  • Reality – ie Pawn Stars, Swamp People, American Pickers
  • True crime – ie Making A Murderer, The Jinx, The Tinder Swindler
  • Mystery Documentary Series – ie The Curse of Oak Island, Hunting Atlantis, Mystery at Blind Frog Ranch
  • Design, Home Renovation & Real Estate – ie Fixer Upper, Love It Or List It, Selling Sunset
  • Food & Food Competition – Diners Drive-Ins and Dives, Master Chef, The Great Canadian Baking Show
  • Sports – ie Cheer, F1 Drive To Survive, Free Solo
  • Animals and Nature – ie Pets and Pickers, Critter Fixers, My Pet Ate What?
  • Social Experiments, Dating, Games – ie Love Is Blind, The Traitors, Temptation Island
  • TLC Style Series – ie Baylen Out Loud, 1000-lb Sisters, Dr Pimple Popper

What We’re Looking For:

We don’t want just ideas, everyone has ideas. We’re seeking access to unique worlds, places, communities, or fresh perspectives that can captivate audiences worldwide. Projects should feature strong, real access to compelling stories or subjects. While stories can have local Manitoba roots, they must resonate internationally, not just within the Canadian market.

Pitch Requirements and Recommendations:

To make the strongest impression, participants are highly encouraged to prepare:

  • A 30-90 second video clip showcasing the concept (this can incorporate sourced or found footage to effectively convey the idea, no high-production value required).
  • A 1-5 minute verbal pitch delivered in person.
  • A written pitch document (submitted in advance or brought on the day) as well a full explanation of the show concept.

A projector will be available on-site for viewing video clips if needed.

It is highly recommended that pitchers clearly identify:

  • What makes this idea unique, interesting, and never told before
  • Potential broadcasters or platforms that would air this show
  • Why the story has international appeal beyond Canada
  • Who would watch this show and why

What Selected Projects Receive:

If selected, creators will benefit from expert support to write, develop, and pitch their projects globally to major networks and streamers alongside Black Watch Entertainment. Our team leverages extensive industry experience and connections to help shepherd strong projects toward faster launches and more efficient development, especially supporting up-and-coming producers, writers, and directors who may feel daunted by the process.

This event aims to foster greater collaboration within Manitoba’s creative community, connect passionate talent with new crew and staff opportunities, and bring fresh faces and ideas into the industry.

Interested creators should prepare their materials and contact us to register or submit pitches. Spots are limited; early preparation is advised.
