About the workshop:

Film Training Manitoba is pleased to present this two-day introductory workshop for those interested in learning more about the costume department on a unionized film or television productions. This course is an introduction of the various positions and basic operation of an efficient costume department. Emphasis will be on the duties, responsibilities and teamwork involved during each phase of production; prep, shoot and wrap.

Topics covered include:

• Crew positions in the costume department as categorized by IATSE 856
• Overview of the stages of production that relate to the Costume Department- Prep, Production and Wrap
• Understanding the call sheet in relation to the Costume Department
• The costume daily – what they need to know
• Scene breakdown in relation to the Costume Department
