About the course:

Using scenarios from the media production industry, participants will develop skills that can be applied on set, in a shop or in the office. This course is ideal for keys and leads, heads of department, first assistants and for all people who direct others as part of their job including directors, filmmakers and producers.

As a supervisor, you are the link between your team and the production. In this module, you will learn basic people management skills and best practices.

As a supervisor, you set the tone and ensure policies; procedures and standards are met every day. Your ability to communicate and delegate, directly influences your team’s morale, motivation, and performance. Learn how to confidently and respectfully supervise your team.

Effective Communication Skills for First Time Supervisors (September 10th)
Most supervisors are challenged to find the time and the most effective methods for communicating information in a timely and open manner to their team. Add in a few difficult team members to a dynamic, fast-paced work environment and it is no wonder that new supervisors often struggle with delivering difficult messages. This half-day program provides foundational tools for supervisors to improve their communication skills and effectively engage with their team in a variety of situations.
