Film Training Manitoba (FTM) is pleased to announce Emily Labby has been hired as the organization’s new Training and Partnerships Manager.
In this position, Labby will oversee a wide collection of programs including partnerships with industry partners including film unions, post-secondary schools, and various production companies.
“Emily Labby’s film industry experience, and familiarity with Film Training Manitoba’s programming make her a great fit with our team.” Said FTM’s Executive Director Adam Smoluk and he added, “We’re very excited to be welcoming her to our team.”
Emily is a filmmaker from Winnipeg, Manitoba. Having earned a Bachelor of Arts in Film Studies from the University of Winnipeg in 2020, she has completed her own dramatic and experimental shorts and has worked on several local, independent projects in various roles. She also has worked as a Production Coordinator at Frank Digital and ZOOT Pictures.
FTM is a non-for-profit charity and member of the Province of Manitoba’s Sector Council program funded through the Economic Development, Investment, Trade and Natural Resources. FTM builds a highly skilled and adaptable film industry workforce to support the activities of Manitoba production companies. FTM collaborates and partners with members of the film industry to identify training needs to support workforce development.
