Workshop Overview:
This intensive lecture is designed for film workers who are ready to stop looking for gigs and start building a brand. Led by industry career consultant Mitch Nadon, this session deconstructs the hidden mechanics of the hiring process, teaching you how to navigate the transition from entry-level roles into senior leadership positions.
About the Lecture:
During this 90-minute lecture, Mitch will break down her core framework for career advancement. She’ll walk through how to audit your CV and bio to make sure they’re actually doing the work for you, while covering the strategy behind the modern job search. Participants will also dive into mastering hire negotiations and the specific interview skills needed to land those high-level positions.
About the One-on-Ones:
Following the lecture, participants will have the opportunity to engage in a 25-minute in-depth individual discussion with Mitch to focus on their specific skills and career goals. Whether participants would like advice on how to excel in their careers or guidance on taking the next steps, these one-on-one coaching sessions will help them identify untapped opportunities and sharpen their professional edge.
About the Instructor:
Michelle Nadon is known for her comprehensive knowledge of the media and entertainment industries. Since 2004, she has been the leading provider of recruitment and cutting-edge career coaching resources for the Canadian media and cultural sectors.
mediaINTELLIGENCE (MI) is renowned for continuously evolving its career coaching resources and services to meet and surpass industry standards. Now in its 22nd year, MI has undertaken recruiting assignments with all major Canadian networks. They have worked with dozens of independent production houses and cultural organizations and delivered proprietary career development training at many Canadian colleges and universities.
Before founding MI, Michelle’s portfolio included managing policy and regulatory compliance with Bell Media. She served as General & Operations Manager in two post-production houses. For five years, she worked in production with TVO’s English and French public broadcasting networks. Earlier in her career, she worked with industry leader Nelvana on award-winning 2D and 3D animated series.
Michelle is fluently bilingual. She holds certificates in Advanced Blogging, Social Media Marketing, The Alliance Atlantis Banff Television Executive Program and Queen’s University’s Executive Marketing Program. Michelle lives north of Toronto and spends all of her spare time, goodwill and company profits on animal rescue and animal advocacy through C4P Animal Rescue.

- Participants must cancel up to 4 full business days prior to the course start date to receive an 80% refund.
- No refund will be given to participants who cancel within 4 full business days before the course start date, or if they do not attend the course.
- Film Training Manitoba reserves the right to cancel, or postpone, any course where a minimum registration level has not been met. Participants registered for a course that is canceled will receive a full refund.
