LTR: Hon. Uzoma Asagwara, Kenny Boyce, The Honourable Anita R. Neville, P.C., O.M., and Hon. Glen Simard

Manager, Film and Special Events, City of Winnipeg’s Kenny Boyce has been awarded the King Charles III Medal. This commemorative distinction is awarded to Canadians who have demonstrated dedication and commitment to the well-being of Canadian society.

“Kenny Boyce’s ongoing service to Manitoba’s film industry through his professionalism and dedication is outstanding. Film Training Manitoba wishes to congratulate Kenny and his friends and family on his important accomplishments.” Said FTM’s Executive Director Adam Smoluk.

For over 20 years, Kenny Boyce has served as the Manager of Film and Special Events at the City of Winnipeg. Well-known as a superhero of the city’s cultural scene, Kenny is instrumental in selling the virtues of Winnipeg to movie companies, large events, and festivals. His role involves helping these entities navigate city requirements, connecting them with local resources, and introducing them to potential venues.

The Coronation Medal was created to mark the Coronation of His Majesty King Charles III, which took place on May 6, 2023. It is the first Canadian commemorative medal to mark a coronation.

The ceremony aimed to highlight the outstanding contributions of these individuals, who are making a significant impact on their communities, the province, and, in some cases, nationally and internationally.
