
Long-serving Manitoba film industry professional Rebecca Gibson has been awarded the Order of Manitoba.
Manitoba’s highest honour recognizes individuals who have demonstrated excellence and achievement in any field, thereby enriching the social, cultural or economic well-being of Manitoba and its residents. Established by the Honourable Peter M. Liba in 1999.
“Rebecca is an exceptional member of our film industry, and she has supported Film Training Manitoba as an instructor, committee member and speaker for many years. Our entire team at Film Training Manitoba wish to congratulate Rebecca and her family on this important and well-earned honour.” Said FTM’s Executive Director, Adam Smoluk.
Rebecca is a partner and co-owner of Eagle Vision, and she is an award-winning actor, writer, director, producer, playwright, best-selling author, devoted mentor and advocate for equity, diversity and accessibility. She is a recent winner of a 2023 International Emmy Award (only the second-ever Manitoba win) and the Banff World Media Festival’s 2022 Innovative Producer of the Year Award.

FTM builds a highly skilled and adaptable film industry workforce to support the activities of Manitoba production companies. FTM collaborates and partners with members of the film industry to identify training needs to support workforce development.
