Inspired by the popularity of our Reel Careers Profiles, our Super Six panels give Manitoban film professionals a chance to share their experiences with both experienced and aspiring film professionals. We’re presenting our latest Super Six at the UWPG Film Festival on October 21 from 1pm – 2pm.

Super 6 Series Panelists:
Aaron Graham is a full member of the Directors Guild of Canada (DGC) and was elected to serve on executive of the DGC Manitoba’s District Council and Film Training Manitoba’s board of directors. He has served as a Production Manager, Production Coordinator and Assistant Production Coordinator on such Winnipeg-based productions as MIDNIGHT SUN, SUNNYSIDE, THE PINKERTONS, and A DOG’S PURPOSE.
Aaron also has an extensive background in freelance film writing including the publications Screem Magazine and Art Decades. A partial list of his interview subjects includes Terry Gilliam, John Landis, James Gray, Richard Franklin, Charles B. Griffith, Stuart Gordon and Richard Linklater. Graham was also selected to the Berlinale Talent Campus at the 2009 Berlin International Film Festival.
Terence Fuller is a Manitoba-based film professional with over 10 years’ experience in the Grip department. He started at William F. White’s shop before eventually moving to set where he worked in every position within the Grip Department, before finally working his way up to
being a Key Grip. As Key Grip, he’s worked on such movies as: BEHIND THE GLASS, BACK TO CHRISTMAS, MIA, ROOM FOR RENT, and DEVIL’S GATE among others.
Terence is currently the Steward with IATSE Local 856 and was elected as the Vice-Chair of Film Training Manitoba.
Nathalie Massaroni is a Manitoba-based editor and filmmaker. After graduating from the University of Winnipeg’s film program, she gained experience in various roles on projects including NIGHT HUNTER, SIBERIA, HOW IT ENDS, and GONE: MY DAUGHTER. Nathalie got the opportunity to pursue her dream career — a professional film editor — when she joined Farpoint Films, an award-winning production company. Since then she has worked on features and series including ICE VIKINGS, CRUISE SHIP KILLERS, MY MISDIAGNOSIS, and FROM THE VINE while becoming an in-demand editor and post-production supervisor.
Alan Wong is the Festival Manager of the Gimli Film Festival, Manitoba’s premiere film festival, and a Founder of the FascinAsian Film Festival, a culturally specific film festival which aims to promote the stories of the Asian diaspora, while offering professional development
opportunities to Asian-Canadian creators, artists, filmmakers, and actors. He holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Brandon University and a Certificate in Arts & Cultural Management from the University of Winnipeg. He started off his career as a performer in music and theatre. He has performed with Manitoba Opera, Rainbow Stage, the Gilbert & Sullivan Society, Vancouver Asian Canadian Theatre, and Mortal Coil Theatre Co., to name a few.
Alan is also an actor and serves as the President of ACTRA Manitoba, the local branch of the union for film, television, and radio performers.
JJ (Jenna) Neepin is a Cree Writer/Director/Producer based in Winnipeg. JJ and her sister/partner/Producer Justina Neepin run their production company JJNEEPINFILMS Inc. JJ has written and directed several short films, many episodes of documentary television and has had films screened at film festivals all over the world. Screenings include Maoriland Film Festival in New Zealand, Big Sky Documentary Film Festival in the U.S. and ImagineNative Film Festival in Toronto. She is also an alumnus of Women in the Director’s Chair and the Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television’s Director Program for Women. JJ was an Associate Producer on season 1 of the CBC television series TRICKSTER.
Allison Bile is the Operations Manager at Film Training Manitoba and graduated from the University of Winnipeg with a Bachelor of Art’s degree in Theatre and French. Allison gained an interest in filmmaking through her involvement with the Winnipeg Film Group by attending workshops on experimental filmmaking and volunteering on short films in the costume department.
Allison served as a board member and Secretary on the Winnipeg Film Group. She completed an internship with FTM in the costume department and was a Permittee with IATSE 856 in costumes. She has completed courses on Arts and Culture Management through the University of Winnipeg and is the process of obtaining a certificate on Human Resource Management through Red River College.
Moderator:
Adam Smoluk is the Managing Director of Film Training Manitoba. Adam graduated with a Business Administration diploma from McMaster University and with honours from Red River College (RRC)’s Human Resource Management and Management Development programs. He has earned two HR designations.
His debut film, HORSETHIEVES won the Audience Choice Award for Best Feature Film at the Winnipeg International Film Festival. His second feature film, FOODLAND was acquired by Shaw and premiered on the Independent Film Channel (IFC). He served as a director for the Frantic Films and Discovery Channel’s true-crime series IN PLAIN SIGHT.
FTM is a member of the Province of Manitoba’s sector council program through the Department of Economic Development and Training. FTM builds a highly skilled and adaptable film industry workforce to support the activities of Manitoba production companies. FTM collaborates with members of the film and television industry to identify the training needs within the community.
