Women and Gender-Diverse Carpentry Workshop in Partnership with North Forge, MCSC and CM&E

Film Training Manitoba recently partnered with North Forge, the Manitoba Construction Sector Council (MCSC), and Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters (CM&E) on their new Women and Gender-Diverse Carpentry Workshop. This workshop provides an introduction to using tools with confidence, whether you’re pursuing a potential career in the trades or simply acquiring the skills to tackle projects independently. These hands-on sessions are designed to build confidence and practical skills.

On November 19th, FTM’s Director of Workforce Development, Allison Bile, attended and spoke at the workshop to discuss carpentry opportunities in the film industry, including set construction, props and other art department positions.

Workshops started on November 10 and will end on November 22. At the end of the workshop, a gathering circle will be held, offering networking opportunities to support your continued journey in carpentry and consider a career in the trades.
